About the Event

THE ONLY ISSUE: A play about humans, the planet, and our collective way forward is an original one-act devised from interviews with local ecology and environmental experts. A talkback will follow the performance.

Free to attend, THE ONLY ISSUE runs August 8th and 9th at 7:30pm at the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre. Be sure to register for a ticket as seating is limited.

THE ONLY ISSUE is the eighth Community Conversation One-Act produced by Summit Performance Indianapolis. In partnership with Dr. Sally Wasmuth of the IUI Department of Occupational Therapy, Summit produces original social justice-themed one-act plays. The scripts are created by local artists using the content of interviews conducted by Dr. Wasmuth and her team. Each performance is followed by a panel discussion reflecting on the play and on the content the play explores.

Is this event free?

Yes! Summit Horizons Community Conversation-One Act is free to attend, though donations are welcome.

Where can I park?

Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre has a small parking lot across the street at 724 N Illinois St. Metered street parking is also available on both sides of Illinois St.

Bus & walking directions?

Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre is located ON the cultural trail where it intersects with Illinois St. If you're coming from the North, the Red Line (90) stop at 9th and Capitol is just three blocks away. If you're coming from the South, take bus route 39 to North and Meridian.

Is there a talkback after the performance?

There is a talkback! Attendance is optional. After every Community Conversation One-Act, we hold a moderated panel discussion and audience talkback with content experts: including some of the interviewees, as well as folks with insight on how the social issue impacts the people of Central Indiana.

I've already reserved my ticket, what if I can not longer attend?

Please let us know if you will not be using your reserved ticket! Seating is limited, so if you cannot attend, we'd love to make your seat available to someone else. Just email Kelsey (kelseym@summit performanceindy.com).

Can I buy my ticket at the door?

That depends on if they sell out! Tickets are available for reservation up to one hour before the performance. We strongly encourage reserving your seat ahead of time. And if you cannot come, be sure to email us so we can release your ticket (kelseym@summitperformanceindy.com)!

Are there concessions?

Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre has a full bar and snacks available at the concessions counter. Be sure to arrive early to order drinks as there is no intermission.
